La Scala: The Magic Flute: Live Transmission

Live recording of William Kentridge’s staging of Mozart, conducted by Roland Boer. Tamino is rescued from a large snake by three ladies-in-waiting and in return, he agrees to rescue Pamina, the daughter of The Queen Of The Night, who has been kidnapped by the magician Sarastro. To aid Tamino on his perilous quest, the ladies-in-waiting provide him with a magical golden flute and a sidekick, the bird-catcher Papageno.
