Jack Reacher, a former Major in the United States Army Police Corps, is living off the grid. En route to his first face-to-face meeting with his successor, Major Susan Turner, Reacher discovers that she has been accused of espionage and is being held in a secure unit awaiting trial. When people connected to Turner turn up dead, Reacher realises he has stumbled upon a wider conspiracy. Against the odds, Reacher breaks Turner out of her cell so they can expose corruption within the Army ranks.
