Korean brothers Eli and Daniel reluctantly take charge of their late father’s shoe shop, which is situated close to the South Central neighbourhood of Los Angeles. African-American, Asian and Latino gangs vie for control of surrounding streets and the brothers try to keep their heads down, forging a touching friendship with an 11-year-old black girl called Kamilla, who helps around the shop when she should be at school.
