Steve Gleason was a defensive back for the New Orleans Saints, who played professional American football for eight years and became a local hero. At the age of 34, three years after retiring from the sport he loved, Gleason was diagnosed with a neuro-muscular disease called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This documentary follows Gleason as he attempts to defy the medics and embarks on a series of challenges to push his body to the limit while he still has control of it.
