Campo

A documentary charting life on and around Europe's largest military base: The Field Firing Range of Alcochete on the outskirts of Lisbon. Drawing on the notion of campo as an arena where ancient Roman men would train for war, the film contrasts the physical exertions of military troops as they undertake fictional missions with the serenity of astronomers observing the stars and the music of a young boy, who plays his piano to an audience of wild deer lurking in the darkness.
