As recent news reports attest, mobile 'phones are one of the most desirable gadgets of the modern age. This documentary examines a devastating side effect of this consumer demand, travelling to the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where the mines are rich in minerals used to produce mobile 'phones. These so-called conflict minerals are financing the civil war in the country that has, according to human rights organisations, resulted in the deaths of more than five million people.
