Psychotherapist Peter Bower and his wife Carol are heartbroken by the death of their young daughter. A year may have passed since they lost their girl but Peter is still crippled with guilt for what he believes was his fatal moment of distraction. In order to regain control of his unravelling mental state, Peter returns home to the close-knit town of False Creek, where he must confront his estranged father William about an unspoken trauma in his childhood.
