Micha returns from a research trip that has taken him away from his girlfriend, Charlotte. Their reunion is awkward because during his absence, Charlotte has been enjoying an affair with her good friend, Melodie, a fast-rising criminal lawyer. Micha also falls under the spell of Melodie and begins his own illicit liaisons as the third point of a self-destructive menage a trois. The lovebirds go to extreme lengths to meet in secret but inevitably, the truth emerges and hearts are broken.
