House of Commons serves heavy metal beer made by Iron Maiden

Heavy metal band Iron Maiden's Trooper ale has gone on sale in the Houses of Commons.

Following a suggestion by head-banging Tory MP Mike Weatherley, Trooper ale is being stocked in the Commons' Strangers' Bar, which often sells guest ales to promote more lesser-known British products.

Weatherley told CMU: "As an Iron Maiden fan and an MP, it is a real treat to have this specialist ale as one of the guest ales in parliament.

Maiden - who are fronted by singer Bruce Dickinson - promoted Trooper during their set at Download Festival, where it was also on sale to revellers, last month.
