Eric Bristow says Helen Flanagan was “daft as a brush” on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The darts legend – who came fourth on the ITV1 reality show – slammed his fellow campmate following her antics in the jungle after the Coronation Street actress amused viewers by failing Bushtucker Trials, leaving her fellow celebrities to go hungry.

Speaking on I’m a Celebrity… Coming Out!, Bristow said: “I love Helen but she’s as daft as a brush. You couldn’t be that stupid if you wanted to.”

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old – who plays Rosie Webster on the ITV soap – was dismayed by the negative comments she received while in the jungle and the actress’ mum, Julia, admitted Helen’s father even shed a tear at the criticism.

She added: “Yeah, that was very hurtful. Even your dad had a little cry. It was difficult.”

An emotional Flanagan admitted she was worried how the negative comments would affect her parents.

She explained: “I will be more upset if it upsets my mum so I don’t want to talk about the articles because I’m not having my mum being upset. I don’t want to talk about it at all.

“I just don’t want people to know that they’ve upset my mum.”

Julia added: “I think they should know. People should know that these things hurt families.”

I’m a Celebrity… Coming Out! airs tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
