RICKY GERVAIS’S chances of hosting the Golden Globes again took a dive today when Globes’ bosses said he had “crossed the line” with his spikey introductions.

Stars including Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr (pictured), Angelina Jolie and “some famous Scientologists” felt the sharp end of Gervais’s tongue during the award ceremony this week and now the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – which runs the event – has hit back.
“He definitely crossed the line, and some of the things were totally unacceptable,” Phillip Berk, HFPA president, told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Any of the references to individuals is certainly not something the Hollywood Foreign Press condones.”
Gervais himself appears to accept that his performance has made him persona non grata at any future Globes evening.
“I probably won’t be here next year,” he said.
