LILY ALLEN today laughed off claims she has agreed to become the next X Factor judge, but was also careful to leave the door open to a seat on the talent show’s panel.

Reports on the weekend featured claims by X Factor ‘insiders’ that Allen was 80% certain to clinch the role as a replacement for Cheryl Cole, who looks increasingly certain to switch to the show’s US version.

But Allen has since disputed that guestimate.

“Nice to know that I’m 80% confirmed to be a judge on X Factor,” said Allen via her Twitter feed.

“Anyone thinking about running it by me? Maybe that’s the 20% bit.”

Later, the Not Fair singer joked that she would “only do it if there’s a ‘pop songs in a foreign language week'”.

If Allen decides to take the plunge and join X Factor, she might find herself alongside Take That singer Gary Barlow, who is also rumoured to have been offered a judging role, in place of either Louis Walsh or Dannii Minogue.
