Not content with smashing the box office for £200M in its first weekend – the one just gone – Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is to make a second grab for cinema-goers cash in the summer of 2011 as part of the build-up to the 15 July release of Deathly Hallows: Part 2, itself filmed in 3-D.

Once those two are out of the way, the rest of the series is to get the third-dimension treatment too, but Warners say the older films will get only a limited run.

“I don’t think a wide theatrical re-release could sustain the costs of a modern marketing campaign,” said Warners’ Dan Fellman.
