| Sofia Coppola the Key for Kirsten Dunst in Marie Antoinette - 'She captures who I am more then anybody else,' says actress The actress - who is best known for her role as flame haired Mary-Jane in the Spider-Man movies - is to play the lead role in the life story of Antoinette, an Austrian archduchess who married into the French royal family in 1770. Dunst has now revealed she only agreed to take the role because she is such a fan of director Sofia Coppola, whose previous work includes Lost In Translation. She said: "She captures who I am more then anybody else." Coppola is the only American female to be nominated for an Oscar. She has previously worked with Dunst before on The Virgin Suicides. The star is convinced she has done the role justice because of her affiliation with the character. Dunst said: "I felt a powerful sense of empathy with Marie-Antoinette." The film is due to be released on October 13 this year. |
