Spamalot takes Olivier Holy Grail

Spamalot has taken centre stage in the list of nominations for this year’s Laurence Olivier Awards. The Monty Python inspired comedy garnered seven nominations in a theatrical pack dominated by musicals.

Other shows given the nod include Porgy and Bess, Carbaret, Evita, Avenue Q and The Sound of Music.

The ceremony takes place at the Grosvenor House hotel on 18 February 2007.
