This November Arab Strap played their last London gig at Scala. Whether you love them or hate them, this was the end of an utterly original band. The place was packed and everyone there knew all the words. Malcolm came back for the encore with an acoustic version of their anthem, The Shy Retirer. It worked surprisingly well, even though their set was long on slow numbers. Honestly, it's just painful that I won't ever see a show by them again.
