Ocean's Thirteen
The gang is back (minus Julia
Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones) in the second sequel to Steven
Soderbergh's frothy 2001 heist caper. Like its predecessors, Ocean's
Thirteen is smart and sexy, trading as much on the likeability of
the impeccably tailored stars as the preposterousness of the plot...

Playing the Airport Security
Game
Ryanair says it's going to cut fares
because demand in the airline game is on a bit of a slump.
So
what's behind the fall in demand? Ryanair's boss, Michael O'Leary,
says long queues going through security are putting people
off.
He might have a point. At Stansted airport last week a
dad with two kids asked the rest of us if he could push-in as he was
about to miss his plane.
Okay, fine. Through the
metal-detecting contraption he and the kids go, then they're the
only ones in a queue of perhaps 70-80 people to get the full
treatment. Frantic Dad pleaded with the uniforms, but, in sharp
tones, was told to empty his bags and his shoulders slumped in
defeat. Have a nice day, sir.
A seven-year-old I know told me
the other day that one of her favourite playground games is Security
Check, where the boys get the girls to remove their belts and shoes
and have their bags checked.
Leaving aside the slightly
creepy Doctors and Nurses overtones there, I'm not sure if this
means the coming generation is going to hate flying or if they'll
take all the security hype as a joke. Either way, the madness at
airports is self-defeating.
