Siegfried’s realisation of his lineage and his stumblings
towards an understanding of his momentous destiny. The literal
awakenings of both the sleeping dragon – jealously hoarding
the ring and its riches – and of the now mortal Brünnhilde.
And the awakening of passionate love as Siegfried pledges his
fidelity to her with the fateful ring.
