The
Vines
London's Brixton Academy
Thu, 1st May 2003, 7.30 PM
2002 was a great year for
bands beginning with 'The..', but THE band of 2002 beginning with
'The...' was undoubtedly The Vines. The Vines' breakneck rise
to the top in just 12 short months has seen them grow from young
Australian sprouts with a penchant for blending rock stylings
to world conquering distortion pedallers extraordinaire. Debut
album 'HIghly Evolved' was one of only a handful of must-haves
last year and their liveshows never fail to get the old sap rising.
Get in quick - this one's gonna be a sell out...

Rock is back! And what's more this year sees the birth of a brand
spanking new festival at legendary rock venue Donington Park which

An auspicious start sees Iron Maiden headline the first night
as part of their 'Give me Ed... til l'm dead' tour - with special
support coming in the form of Marilyn Manson in his only confirmed
festival gig this year and up and comers the Deftones. Second
night headliners Limp Bizkit will be performing material from
new album 'Less is More' for the first time on UK shores, other
slots on this night go to two of the hottest new bands about -
Audioslave and Disturbed. Of course, that doesn't quite add up
to 50 - so be sure to check back soon for more announcements.
