Skinner a Sinner for Lennon
VETERAN MP Dennis Skinner was chucked out of the House of Commons for accusing Tory shadow chancellor George Osborne of being a coke-head.
Talking of the recession-hit 1980s, when the Tory party was in power, Skinner said: “The only thing that was growing then was the lines of coke in front of Boy George and the rest of the Tories."
At first, I thought Sinner meant that gender-bending pop star Boy George enjoyed regular coke sessions with the Thatcher government in a veritable Church of the Poison Mind, but then realised the reference was to Osborne’s youth.
Still, the idea that politicians have likenesses in the world of pop is a fruitful one. New Tory leader and old Etonian David Cameron would make a great member of play-punk bands like McFly, Gordon Brown looks like a thousand heavy-set heavy-metal bass guitarists and Tony Blair has a bit of the Chris Martins about him - bland front concealing something sinister underneath.
Skinner himself was obviously making his own touching tribute to John Lennon, on the 25th anniversary of his death. A Working Class Hero is something to be.

Your site does not appear to give transfer options/times/distances between airports . If I land at Gatwick (for example) and am then flying on from Heathrow/Luton/Stansted how do I transfer to any of these and how long does it take?

Dear Ivan,
Thanks for your comments, but we're wondering: why on earth did you decide it would be cheaper/better/quicker to fly to Heathrow and then "transfer" to Luton or Stansted. Even without a guide, you're looking at at least two hours. Who's your travel agent? You might need to fire them. Other than that, your best bet is to grab a cab for a bazillion pounds. Oh, and if there is a delay of more than three minutes, you might as well set up camp. Traffic sucks. But, you know, good luck with that.
